Q: Why do you come to my house?
A: Well, for starters, I have 3 teenagers, and a 3 yr-old grandson. There is constant commotion, and mess. Hhhmmmm......teenagers.... does this mean they'll move out soon? Anyway, believe me, I go through life thinking that nobody's mess could possibly be bigger than mine. At any rate, a quiet, peaceful space is more conducive to a Reiki session than a chaotic one.
Q: What do you bring when you come?
A: I bring a portable massage table (well, ok, it's portable, but bulky, and it still makes me feel like a klutz). So I will try to arrive a little early to get it in and set up. I also bring a music CD and some basic paperwork. If I come to your home, I will expect you to provide a sheet for the table, and a pillow and blanket if those are necessary to your comfort. If it is an office setting, I will provide the sheet.
Q: How do I prepare for a Reiki session?
A: Wear loose, comfortable clothing (you do NOT undress for a Reiki session), and set an intent for the session. Your intent could be anything from relaxation and stress relief, to emotional release, to any kind of physical dis-ease that needs healed or relieved.
Q: Do you touch me?
A: That is a personal choice of the recipient. It is not necessary for me to touch you. Reiki is a very effective means of energy work that does not require touch. Our energy fields extend out from our bodies, and draw in Universal Life Force/Energy from outside the body. (Genital areas are NEVER touched!)
Q: I'm pregnant, is Reiki safe for my baby?
A: Absolutely! Reiki energy NEVER does any harm, and cannot be used in any way to deliver harm. It is absolutely safe, as well as beneficial for both you and your baby, and repeated sessions will probably ease the delivery process for both you and your baby, as well.
